Three Rivers Film Festival (Part 1 of 2) – Pittsburgh Event Photographer

New this year, Film Pittsburgh teamed up with PFPCA to present the Three Rivers Film Festival. Presenting 31 films in 5 days, this was a whirlwhind event full of fabulous stories and discussions with filmmakers in beautiful venues all over town.

So as not to bog down one post, we’re going to publish a Part 2 next week to show off just a few more of our favorite shots from this event.

This is just a small sampling of clients that Bridgeway supports through their programming. Below, you’ll find a mix of candid and posed portraits of:

Mengesha Abtew of Kafa Buna Cafe & Store
Joy Benton of Dauntless Boutique
Devon Berry of The Sycamore Center
Derrick Tillman of Bridging the Gap Development
Dan Kuhn of Ton Pottery

ReelAbilities Pittsburgh 2016 – Rodef Shalom Event Photographer

We’re proud to have worked with ReelAbilities Pittsburgh from its inception. We’ve consistently worked with Film Pittsburgh on its several world class film festivals and programs right here in the ‘burgh for more years than we can remember. We love all these festivals, but we cannot tell a lie: ReelAbilities is our favorite. It’s a joy each year to meet new people, engage in important discussions, and learn from inspiring stories of the struggle for inclusion and access.
This year was no different. We made new friends, got inspired by incredible stories, and learned so much about the lives of people who are different than we are. We are incredibly thankful to work this event each year and hope to see you there in 2017!

Outdoor fun family portrait photoshoot in Pittsburgh

Repeat clients make our hearts swell. The feeling we get when a family says “we love your work and we want you to capture our memories again” is almost indescribable. But on top of that warm and fuzzy feeling of validation, we get to see these adorable kids grow up and develop unique personalities as they learn to navigate the world, and the playground.

This session also happens to be an example of our newest offering, Our Everyday sessions. A fun and playful session where the kids can be kids. We understand that scheduling family portraits can sometimes be stressful as you work to negotiate the perfect outfit and mood for the day. But we don’t require, nor desire perfection. In this session, we’ll go to the zoo, the park, or an ice cream stand where your family can have fun and pretend we’re not even there. If those ideas don’t sound like a good fit, pick something that your family would do together for a fun on a weekend day if no camera were involved- we’ll do that! The result is a beautiful storybook album or real and authentic moments with the ones you love most. Want to schedule your session? Get in touch!

This sweet family was preparing to move out of Pittsburgh and chose to highlight their favorite spots in Highland Park as a capstone to their years here in the ‘burgh. To quote Cherilyn, “The fountain and the Farm House playground are our jam!” It was a hot and sweaty day, but that didn’t stop us from having a ton of fun, complete with some hilariously grouchy faces at times. Keep an eye out for a future post featuring their beautiful album!
